While the dust has been settling here, I wanted to make sure I still touch base at least once a month to let you guys know what’s up!
To be quite honest with you all, it’s been a difficult month of just trying to deal with the overwhelm of everything. June has been nonstop doctor’s appointments to deal with several diagnoses I’m currently struggling with, from thyroid issues to the possibility of a cancerous lump on my kidney.
And whenever that C word pops up, it’s always a lot to process!
The good news is that said lump may be benign and lifestyle changes may help a lot of the other health issues I’m going through, but it’s all been a big shake-up, as well as a huge interruption to all my plans. (If you are thinking ‘we are cursed’ you are not alone in that ha!)
With all that in mind, I’ve had to make a really tough decision!
Calendar Delayed Again??
I hate to say it, but I have chosen to delay the Birthstone Calendar yet again!
Calendars are very time-sensitive projects and the checkup scan to see if my kidney lump has grown is in November, which means I have to make that decision now, since the months leading up to November is the same time I would be working to promote, launch, and fulfill the calendar, which is a big task for a small team like mine (the fulfillment team is me, my mom, and my husband). If I am diagnosed with cancer, I DO NOT want to be dealing with anything other than focusing on the many appointments and treatments that will follow.
I’m so sorry to do this yet again! I’m mad because this was not the exciting explosive finish to this project I wanted for this project this year, but life has a funny sense of humor huh?
If I’m given the all-clear in November, awesome. Happy birthday to me! I’ll keep working on perfecting the calendar for release the next year in 2025. (Wow that sounds so futuristic and far away). There’s still a lot to do, including painting the cover, creating all the promo images and videos, and preparing everything needed for the proofs and marketing lead time.
In the meanwhile, I’ll keep sharing other art here, like the scarves, journals, and enamel amulets I wanted to put together for the Birthstone Goddesses and also sharing the next personal projects in the Fantasy/TTRPG vein.

Things have been more challenging than expected this year, but I otherwise have the support of friends and family. I’m grateful for a home of our own and a safe space to continue to heal while we work through everything. Art’s going to be slow for a little longer while I try to figure out my rhythm here again and work through my timeline upset, but I hope to be back to sharing soon!
Take care of yourselves!
